About FK
Francesca & Kate is the first collaboration between greasequeen & myself. Francesca & Kate is a bit of a practice exercise for both of us–short fiction for me, illustration for G.C. Thankfully, she is more than willing to put up with my obsession love of Washington-centric & queer storytelling.
I began writing FK in January of 2023 as part of an unsuccessful New Year’s resolution to write a little something everyday. This produced a lot of mediocre poetry & prose, but FK has become something I take a lot of joy in.
I am a firm believer in “writing what you know.” While it sometimes feels lazy or unambitious, I feel that utilizing my experiences & love for my home state truly produce my best, most intimate work.
